We all deserve a chance

“In life there are always people who try bring you down” those are the words of encouragement we received today when I told my boss about the negativity we have received from guys like Matebele on NewZimbawe.com.

Our dream was to make a difference in Zimbabwe and working on SmS.co.zw allowed us to apply our knowledge in a productive way.People back home have been so supportive and friendly this animosity and distrust against us has really set us back.

No offence to C10 but I don’t think they would build a site just to capture your numbers and spy on people, there are better ways to spy than this.

Let me respond to some of the negative issues raised.

Privacy
We guarantee your privacy and our privacy policy clearly states our position please read http://www.sms.co.zw/privacy.asp
We have not failed to deliver on this promise give us a chance I believe we all deserve a chance

Security
A lot of guys have tried to be technical and thrown a lot of baseless jargon to scare people away from using our site. Guys have even claimed to have read our source code. ?? we don’t know where they went to learn programming. Any normal programmer would tell you that its impossible to read server side 'source codes'. If they work for you please fire them at once, programmers would never say anything that stupid. We used a lot of trickery to make it secure and it would be silly to disclose secrets that will give us a competitive edge over guys who will surely try copy us.

Delivery
The project is still in beta like g-mail we have clearly stated that we need your support to polish up the features and extend the current functionality we cant say by Zimbabweans for Zimbabweans if Zimbabweans have not played a role in the development process. There have been problems and as of 6AM Zimbabwean time April 28 we where happy that most of the technical glitches that resulted in some messages not getting delivered where solved

If you feel unsecure with registering with your REAL number - SIMPLY DONT! there are plent fake numbers arround.

Bug Fix

Dear SmS Zimbabwe members We have just fixed a failure to deliver message bug in the system that prevented users outside Zimbabwe who registered with mobile numbers with more than 10 digits. The system would mark the message as sent but in fact our service provider would reject the message and not deliver it. It was an oversight on our part and we have corrected the fault if you are outside Zimbabwe your message will now be delivered It’s been a difficult and bumpy ride and we thank you for your support and faith in us for those who have registered and we will make every effort in the future to make or system efficient and effective We appologise for any inconvenience caused.
